Description
British Rail Eastern Region Porter’s Cap Badge, in beautiful rich navy blue.
The back has the manufacturer’s name – JP Gaunt, London.
Navy blue was the colour used by the Eastern region for British Railways, which covered most of East Anglia, as well as parts of Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire. There were six colours used in total, as well as navy blue, there was burgundy red for Midland region, light blue for Scotland, tangerine orange for the North East, green for Southern and chocolate brown for West / Southwest & Wales.
The enamel on the badge is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. One of the clips is missing.
