Very unusual antique photograph of four marble sculptures, framed circa 1900s, from the renowned dealer William Talbot. Talbot was employed by the British Museum as repairer and cleaner of antiquities, particularly in the Egyptian and Assyrian Department, until about 1884 after which he appears to have specialised as a dealer as his sales to the Museum begin in 1886. His sales continued until his death in 1914.This impressive photograph measures 118cm X 40cm, and is mounted in a lovely varnished frame, possibly mahogany.%u00a0Sticker on the back reads William Talbot, Dealer.
