Beautiful Wedgwood plate issued to commemorate the dissolution of West Riding Council in 1974.
A beautiful plate and a piece of local history, this high quality plate was issued in 1974 to commemorate the dissolution of West Riding Council in West Yorkshire. Featuring the crest of West riding Council, the plate also has the signatures of various contemporary office holders, together with illustrations of various local landmarks. Decoration is gold on a beautiful pale green background, and the plate comes complete with original paperwork, including a letter sent apologising for the delay in production due to the complexity of the design and recent industrial unrest.
A beautiful object and a piece of history.
Measures 28 cm in diameter approximately.
