Lufft barometer

Description

Beautiful ‘banjo’ barometer by the German firm of Lufft.

Lufft were one of the leading producers of barometers from their beginnings in Stuttgart in 1873, and this particular barometer can be dated by the logo on the back to sometime between 1920 and 1956, although from its design I would estimate 20s to 30s.

Set on an oak base with a brass surround, the workings of the barometer can be seen through the face. Complete with mercury thermometer, the barometer is in excellent condition. A beautiful and practical object.
